Easter is a season of sharing and spoiling your beloved ones with some sweet treats. It is also a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves and release all the creativity you've been holding back. Here's some inspiration for a very simple and easy way to surprise your folks with an original gift to celebrate Easter.
This Easter I made some hand-painted Sweet Vegan Surprise Bags to offer to my family. They do not require any special skill apart from handling scissors, holding a brush in circles and rolling up a tie. You only need some parchment paper, scissors, a medium size brush (I used a number 8), some acrylic or any other water-based inks of three or four joyful colors and some rope to tie the bags up.
Inside you can put any sweet treat you want. This year I prepared some delicious Vegan Shortbread Cookies that I also wrapped up in parchment paper and put inside the bags.
To make the bags you start by cutting a square of parchment paper with about 12 inch (~30 com) each side. Fold it in a triangle three times in a row and cut out a small triangle of paper from one of the edges (not the edge that holds the center of the bag).
You will finish with a flower-shaped piece of parchment paper, like this one.
To make the Easter bags funny and joyful let's add some color to them. You don't really need to get fancy here. A few drops of ink, a loosen hand with a brush and you are done. This is also something you can do with your kids. There's nothing more comforting to the heart than a hand-painted Easter bag made by the little ones.
When the ink is dry, tie up the four edges of the 'flower' together with some rope putting inside your vegan sweet Easter treats and that's it!
A fun game to play with the kids is to hide the bags somewhere in the house or outside in your backyard and make the kids search for them.
Here are the Easter gifts I prepared this year: Sweet Vegan Surprise Bags with Vegan Shortbread Cookies inside (for the ladies and children) and ' Happy Easter' Raw Vegan Almond Truffles for the gentlemen.
I hope you find some inspiration here to get creative, play and be happy! Have a joyful Easter!
